General Choi Hong Hi The Founder of ITF Taekwon-Do

Anniversary 11/04/2025

Celebrating 70 Years of Taekwon-Do

On this day the 11th of April in 1955, Taekwon-Do gained official recognition.

Taekwon-Do means literally "The art of hand and foot". It was founded by General Choi Hong Hi (9th Degree) of Korea.

It was developed as the result of many years of research into other martial arts and into the application of modern physics to blocking and striking techniques.

The aim with Taekwon-Do was to develop the most powerful martial art in existence, and science was the tool used to make this possible.

I hope that you can join with myself and with all the practioners of Taekwon-do across the globe and celebrate this historic day.

Taekwon-Do is not just a martial art it is a way of life.

ITF Australia: NSW State Championships 2022 Medal Results

Twelve members of Parallax Taekwon-Do travelled to Ryadalmere on Sunday the 22nd of May to compete in the NSW State Championships, which was hosted by Grand Master Daher at his full time training centre. This was the first competition for all the competing members of our school and I must say that I am extremely proud of everyone's performance.

The total number of medals won on the day was 19, with the final medal total breakdown being 5 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze, which placed Parallax Taekwon-Do 3rd on the medal table on the day, which for it's competitors and our school was an amazing result.

Once again, many congratulations to everyone who competed on the day. For a full breakdown of the medal winners and some photos from the competition, please click on the button below.
